rare, I think Artley flute

Post by benzietom »

I have a two piece Artley flute that I haven't been able to identify well enough to figure out what pads to buy. The serial number is 13561. Can anyone help me? My wife says it is probably rare.

Are you willing to sell it?

-It's an E flat Soprano flute. A rare flute, but it cannot play c concert flute music as it is in Eb. It was popular back in the day, but is hardly seen or used outside of flute choirs.

If you are willing to sell it, I'm here ;)

It might be an Eb flute but it could also be a two-piece C flute. The Artley Dynatone flute was two pieces - the body and foot were not separated as is usual on C flutes. The only way to know for sure is to measure the length of the assembled flute. A standard C flute is about 26 1/2 inches long. An Eb flute will be much shorter than that.

They are normally 20-22 inches long assembled. Artley's that are Eb soprano have the model number 19-O

Based on the serial number provided, it appears to be a vintage Artley flute from the 1970s. As for the rarity, it would be best to consult with a specialist in vintage musical instruments to determine its uniqueness and value. In terms of finding the correct pads, you can also try reaching out to Artley directly or a repair specialist for flutes. https://www.google.com/
