So heres the story. My mom said she would order it the day that my report cards which is Nov. 21, if I get all A's. This sucks. Ive never gotten a straight A report card in my life. All this extra work will be worth it based on your good feedback on this. Hope its not bought by then.

Beg your teachers for As! Tell them your life depends on it and stuff, maybe they will go easy on you. Or maybe they'll help you get them. Or they will tell you too bad. Worth a try. ^^

My friend gave me the link to Gemienhardts homepage. I saw some really nice looking piccolos. Does anybody know how to gain more information such as ordering, price, serial numbers?

Cheap materials, poor craftsmanship, and an out-of-tune scale. What else is there?

A Gemeinhardt piccolo? Are you talking about his or all gemeinhardts in general?

Sorry, I thought someone had asked about 'Grand'. Or was that too many posts ago? My primary complaint about Gemeinhardt is scale/intonation. There are three in our store right now, and they've been there for about two years. The tone is not too bad, but when customers play them alongside other brands, usually Yamaha, there's no contest. Piccolos in general have intonation issues, as do all of the mini-editions---picc trumpet, alto trombone, Eb clarinet---every intonation tendency of the large, regular instrument is magnified tenfold on the higher-pitched version, or so it seems. Some brands seem more capable of being played in tune without major contortions on behalf of the player. So try a bunch of piccs, with a tuner, and avoid handicapping yourself in the intonation department if possible. :D

Well theres some good news and bad news. The good news is, even though I didnt get straight A's but I did make Honor Roll. So my mom is being extremely nice and shes going to order it sometime soon. The bad thing is, I wont be able to get it till Christmas Morning and with Winter Break still a few days longer, I doubt Ill be able to get my band director to check it out.

Got some very good news. I was able to convince my mom to let me play it so I can check out anything wrong with it and get it checked by my band director. This piccolo couldnt be any better! It has a really nice, clean sound. Much more in tune than my Grand. It has very good intonation. I can slur very easily. Stacatos and legatos are perfect. The keys and pads are in very good shape. I love this piccolo!
