The latest update on the Flute Repair Kit saga is this:

The missing Flute Supplies and Manual have been posted to me.
I get to keep the Saxophone supplies - which may just develop wings and fly south. I shall post them next week to mystery destination.
BUT I may not be getting a new box - wait and see. Curt said a kit went out. I'm hpeful.

I have never had any trouble ordering from Musicmedic.
After sending you a very detailed list of tools and stuff through pm I'm very disappointed to see that you didn't take half of my advice.
Also, who cares if the spring hook is sharp? You should not be using it on the flute, just to push springs. If you are bumping screwdrivers against the flute body you are not holding the screwdriver correctly or using it in a wrong way.
I personally like dealing with Musicmedic, the website is easy to use once you get used to it and the cork I got from them the last time I ordered looked fine.
About the owners, Curt and Jeff, they're both good, just very very different.

Hi Thunderlily
I'm glad to hear of your problem-free experience.
Mistakes happen, and the disappointment - it was great, perhaps more so because I had high regard for MM and never expected this slip up from them. To say the least its a waste of time and results in a two week delay for supplies. What has happened has happened. Just lucky not you.

I do sense some angst in your note and I would like to douse the fire a little.

I recognise that you had taken the trouble to pen the list - nothing has been discounted (apart from spring hook quality) and it is not taken lightly. Your advice was highly appreciated and valued and I had expressed my thanks. But after that, it is my prerogative to decide how quickly I purchase the items, in what order I purchase them and whom I purchase them from in the end. Hence that was quite a needless outburst. :| Not everyone can buy everything at once, bear in mind I also have a lot of legacy tools at home to start with. Peace-lightning.

If you want to smooth up your spring hook a little just rub it on some fine grit sandpaper. The spring hook should only be used to push springs and not touching the body.
I was just sad that you didn't take my note about not buying the flute fix kit, that was all.

Dear Thunderlily, omg. You did too. Thanks for the warning. My fault for forgetting. I really do appreciate what you said and is working towards implementation.

Thunderlily, I'll have to concur with you that Curt is really professional, courteous and nice to deal with.

He should take all his customer service calls though that would be an impossiblility. Sheer good timing to get him today.

Everything good.

Hindsight: Omg... made such a mountain out of a molehill.

Lesson: Always expect the best from people, even on a bad day.

Perspective: Musicmedic does a tremendous service in the industry and really ought to be cheered on.

Curt is incredibly professional in his approach and has an amazing offering.
