Britannia silver and I got along well today! The flutes play quite differently but I like both equally at this point. There is a big price difference with the Miyazawa being $1300 more expensive.
Will both flutes let me "grow" equally? I'm sure I'm not seeing the full potential of either flute yet. Should I go for the more expensive one knowing that I'll get more out of it as I develop as a player. Or is the Altus going to serve me just as well?
Thanks for your help with this.

@KCMilo: Hi! How are you going with your flute selection. I am guessing you'd have settled for one or the other already. A lot of these experts will say a lot depends on the player and not the flute, as I think, the models you've chosen are already professional level. The rest is up to your personal preference, yr preferred sound and which headjoint suits your embouchure better for ease of control - ie your test drive findings of the flutes available to you.

I too like a B&W answer but apparently it's a soft science and a lot depends on the infinite permuations of variables we are faced with in our physiological make up and the individual flute & its journey from its maker into your hands. Galway says you make the difference. Some manufacturers & vendors will say, keep looking for that perfect fit. There are a lot of us in between whom out of curiosity or curiosity, find ourselves caught up in that quest for the perfect headjoint or flute until we find it within ourselves.
