Post by squints »

I am looking for a base flute. Since I only play as a hobby I wan't somthing really cheap. I don't care how crappy even if it's a sams choice base flute thats what I am looking for.

Bass flutes are relatively expensive (even the cheapest), but the most reasonably priced are the new Brio line (from Gemeinhardt) and the Jupiters. Even if you buy used, just stick with a name brand and you should be fine. Those Sam's club flutes (I don't even think they exist in bass form) are more trouble than they're worth, and financially it doesn't make a lot of sense to buy something that likely will have to be thrown away eventually. Watch eBay or used flute sections from reputable dealers (fluteworld, flute center of new york, Carolyn Nussbaum, etc.) for cheaper used instruments.
