Muramatsu For Sale

Post by avilas »

I have a Muramatsu for Sale, it's an AD model, open holed with french arms, silver headjoint, body, and keys, B foot joint, and Jack Moore headjoint. I bought it from Dr. McDermott who is the flute instructor at Northwestern State University. My problem is that I have no idea how to sell it. The market for that type of flute is so small I just don't have a clue as to where to begin to sell it. Any help or advice anyone can offer would be great. Thanks so much for the help.

I would contact Flute Specialists Inc. or maybe FluteWorld. They both have consignment programs that can help you with that.

J. L. Smith in Charlotte NC also takes consignments. I can also recommend them and have bought from them in the past. I have a particular interest in the Muramatsu AD because that is what I play. Depending upon the age and condition of your particular flute, I have seen them selling in the range of $3000-$4500. I'm not sure if the Jack Moore headjoint would alter the value of the instrument. Any of the consignment shops can better advise you on what is a fair selling price for your instrument.

Thanks so much for the advice. I do have a small leak under a key, so i sent it off to Muramatsu today for an adjustment. They said they also do consignment for 10% so I think I might try to have them do it. It's in really good condition, that small leak is the only things wrong with it. I saw similar flutes selling on their website for about $4600-4900 so I think I'm going to try to get about that much out of it. The best thing is Muramatsu will be able to give me an appraisal on it after the needed repair so I'll have a better idea of its value after that.

I just wanted to post that I have sent my flute off to muramatsu for the needed repairs and they have assured me that when it returns it will be in excellent playing condition. I've given it some thought and have decided that if anyone on the board is interested in purchasing the flute please feel free to let me know I will be selling it for $3800. I posted earlier the information on the flute.

I did send my flute off to Muramatsu for the repairs and they assured me it would be in excellent condition when it was done. I'd be happy to sell it through the forum if anyone wants it I'll be asking $4000 for it. Please let me know if you are interested.

I have tried to post information regarding selling my flute if anyone is interested on these message boards. I have noticed that none of this information has been posted. Can you please tell me why? I am new to this website so I am not sure as to the rules regarding this but have seen people post other instruments for sale. Is there a reason that I just cannot post mine for sale or am I not doing it correctly? If you could email me regarding this I would appreciate it. galaxy39@gmail.com I tried to PM the moderators but am also not allowed to do this since I am new to the boards. Thank you for the help.
