According to the website, the 765 CODA and 795 CODA have the same keywork. I've picked up from the web that the 795 has some hand finishing done, but can anyone tell me if there are any major construction differences between the two model's mechanisms. The price difference isn't big between the CODA models.
Thanks in advance.

The keywork is not the same. The 795 has a back connector for the F/F# clutch and is much more finely sculpted, "heavier gauge" than the quantz series. Keywork on Quantz series is interchangeable 500-765. Dolce and Elegante 695/795 are interchangeable with each other, but not with the quantz series flutes..
They are the "same" in that both series are pinless and that basic design is the same. The keywork for the two series is different however..
Formerly with Pearl Flute guy...

Re: Pearl 765 vs. 795
The major difference is the headjoint cut, as the elegante has a forza headjoint and the quantz is the standard. I personally play the pearl elegante and when trying them out I found that there was a major difference in the sound quality. The elegante also has a double-Sprung Bb key and has cork key-stoppers instead of the rubber ones on the quantz. And, if your still k the line for it, the elegante comes with a beautiful mahogany case.

Pearl flutes do not use cork or rubber on the key tails. (no manufacturer uses rubber bumpers because of the horrible reaction with silver!) They are felt on the entire line. The case is not Mahogany either. Those cases are a plain wood with red stain. The pro flute series (4 digits) all come with hardwood cases, and those are walnut. But not Elegante unless you have an older Japan made 785....

I'm sorry if there was misinformation about the case type. The answer I put on was simply the same information given when I spoke with Gareth McLearnon(Pearl Flutes Artist) about it. He may not have known, considering he plays a 14K gold Maesta. In any case, the quantz line does utilize a rubber or soft plastic stopper for the D# key. The elegante has cork. I did not specify earlier, as I knew that the key tails had felt on them.

Re: Pearl 765 vs. 795
Thanks for all the input everyone. I've got my hands on a 40th Anniversary Quantz 765 Coda and a 795 Elegante with C# trill / D# roller. I'm ignoring the case differences and they both have a Forza headjoint so I'm focusing on the key work.
The main differences I see are:
Overall there's less play in the 795 keys. The Quantz isn't bad but the 795 is pretty much prefect I guess because of the hand finishing.
The C# hole is offset on the 795 whereas on the Quantz it's inline with the rest of the holes.
The angle of C# trill key action is nicer on the 795
The keys are more finely sculpted on the 795 - the cups and the gizmo key.
The 795 has a back connector for the F/F# clutch
The 795 has a double-Sprung Bb/B key
The rollers on the D# and low C#/B are noticeably more ergonomic on the 795.
The 795 seems to have a few more adjustment screws.
Both have cork on the low D# key and D/D# trill key keys.
Both have felt on key tails.
The 795's post and plate design is more robust in places.
Playing them both (with Forza headjoints) I can't tell them apart except for using the C# trill key and r/hand little finger keys, but I suspect the 795 will be more durable.
I think the small difference in price is well worth it, especially if you're comparing a 765 without a Forza headjoint.

Re: Pearl 765 vs. 795
I just wanted to post that I really appreciate this thread. Thank you! I was recently deciding between these very two models and went with the 795 RBE CODA.
