Mystery flute...

Post by Enayen »

My brother found an older flute at an antiques and curiosities market, I've googled and can't seem to find any info on it. It's very tarnished, it says CARLTON and LONDON on it, and "Prestige" further down. It has the numbers 6554 in several places. The case is lined in red velvet and has no words on it of any kind. My daughter plays flute, she has a beginner instrument and we are trying to determine if this is a better instrument worth putting a little money into or not. And now that Google seems to have no idea what this is, we are extremely curious if anyone has any knowledge of this maker, instrument, etc.
Thank you!

Pictures would help. There is a music dealer that imports a cheap flute from China under the Carlton brand.
