silver-plate handcrafted flutes
Hello everybody. I began searching for an intermediate flute a month ago. As I researched and asked questions, I was led to the thought process that the more silver in the instrument, the better the tone. Then I began coming across the opinion on several sites, including this forum, that for my price point, a silver plated handcrafted flute with solid silver head is a much better value. It makes sense to me, so this is what I'm searching for. My budget is $1500-$2000. The only flute I can find of this type in my price range is the Pearl 695 Dolce series. Two questions: has anybody played on this flute, and what do you think? (I read one opinion that the "Forza" headjoint offers little resistance). Second question: there have got to be silver-clad handcrafted flutes from other manufacturers out there, but extensive googling isn't turning up anything. Thank you!

Pearl flutes are good. My primary flute is a Muramatsu but I have a 500 series Pearl that I use as a backup and for outdoor gigs. I have worked on a few Pearl 600 series and they play really well.

My Yami is handcrafted silver-plated sterling head. Luscious player. New is out of your price range, but I'm sure there's used out there that'll be close.lovetoplay wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2018 8:23 am... At that price point, you need to be looking at Amadeus, Azumi, NorthBridge, and Sonare. Disregard the rest.
