Hi,
I need some advice I have a problem with my Yamaha YPC 32
I was playing my pic today practicing a piece really full on then all of a sudden i lost the ability to play c and a few other notes i seem to have lost tension on the b/c key. I left it alone for awhile then tried again later it seems to play a c ok now but the tension in the key is still not the best. The key has raised above the alignment it should have with the rest of the keys. It is no longer in alignment. Anyone got any opinions of what I could do apart from taking it to be repaired. I only got it serviced recently in mid April and the work is now out of warranty that was done.
my pic is 11 years old but it hasn't been played that much over the years i've taken good care of it always got it serviced even when i was using it.
Would like some advice

When you say the key has lost "tension" do you mean that when pressed down it does not return to the normal up position?
If so, it could be that the spring on the C key has become unhooked from it's saddle or possibly that since you haven't played it a lot recently, the oil may be old and gummy. When was the last time you had it serviced with a Clean/Oil/Adjust (COA) ?

The key once pressed goes to high its raised above what it normally would be. It had a COA done around the 16th of april. I think the spring needs to be retensioned or an adjustment needs to be made.

If the key is higher than normal when not pressed, most likely a felt or cork under the C key kicker (the key foot) has fallen off. That would cause the key to be too high in it's normal position. If you just had a COA in April, I'd take it back to the shop that did it. They might have replaced it and didn't get it glued on securely.

thanks for the reply I will have a better look at it tonight when i get home from work.
Its always the same things happen when you really don't want them to happen. Getting it fixed may have to wait awhile as they send the instruments away, most places don't have a repair tech in shop.
Its just really bad timing for something to go wrong i'm off to Japan in august to buy a new flute and have a holiday and i'm saving most of my money towards that event

it looks like it has lost the little foot. It plays okay but it will have to get fixed.
I was also wondering if anyone else has seen or heard about the Yamaha YPC-82 piccolo with two heads I came across this during some research for my trip in august.
