i just got my 50 year old flute tuned up and it plays as "good" as i remember. i didn't have an amp for a few decades, but picked up a nice Marshall a few years back when Gibson released a 12-string SG, still looking for a step-up mini-2-phone jack to plug in, ... curious to hear what/ if sound comes out.
when i searched Selmer Omega i was a bit disappointed at the reviews, but the Omega flutes i saw were quite different... actually a bit gaudy... not a fan of the gold accents... mine is all silver. did Selmer go downhill over the years? i frankly cannot remember anyone at the time i bought it having that sort of concern. not looking to sell it... too much of an old friend.
cheers...gary

That's quite interesting. Selmer didn't make a lot of flutes with the Varitone pickup. Do you have the electronic units that go with it (controller and amplifier)?

no, i never got the Varitone amp. i remember it had a feature where you'd sound like a duet.... something like that, maybe an octave off. i remember it was also a little pricey plus i started switching over to guitar after HS. offhand i'd say Ian Anderson and Herbie Mann were my big influences at the time.
