What is that build-up that appears on
the lip plate sometimes after you play? What causes it? I heard it was skin
cells is tht true? thanks

Well, it depends on what it looks
like. Sometimes when the skin on your lips is pealing you can leave some residue
there. Just clean it off when you are done or during a break when playing. There
always should be some saliva stain on your mouthpiece after playing, make sure
to wipe this off after playing. Sometimes it is a good idea to wash your lip and
chin area before playing. sometimes the warm water helps to warm the fingers up
as well. Or you have a plated lip plate that is loosing it's silver plating. so
it could be a few different things. What does it look like?

Mabye it's dried lip gloss or
something. Because it's not silver or anything my lip plate is solid silver.

if you use chapstick or lipgloss,
more than likely its just skin cells and chapstick, this used to happen to me a
lot when I used chapstick even a couple hours prior to playing, eventhough I
knew not to play with chapstick on my lips, it would seem as if the chapstick
was gone. It was mostly worn off, but it stays in the little crevices of your
lips. It softens your skin, and when you play you are rubbing any thing left
plus the dead skins cells off. Wipe off your lips with a wash cloth or even just
rub them with your finger before playing to remove the dead skin cells and any
left over products.

I have that same problem myself, only
it happens on the opposite side from where you blow. i clean it regularly, but
sometimes it gets this bluish color and when i try to wipe it off, its very
difficult to. what should I do?
