Inherited a Powell flute, know nothing about it!

Post by DrAdam »

Hi guys,

I'm hoping some of you knowledgeable folks could help me out. I came into a flute, and knowing nothing of flutes I've done my best to research it online, and have not come up with much.

The head joint is inscribed only with the Powell logo, and the word "Aurumite" which I've learned is a combination of rose gold and sterling silver (though apparently there are different types....9k....14k...etc, and I see nothing that indicates which).

The body joint is inscribed with:

Powell logo
"Verne Q. Powell"
"Conservatory"
"Aurumite"
"Boston"
"2043"

The foot joint has only the logo inscribed on it.

It all seems to be in good shape, with what I would describe as normal wear from regular use.

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. I can provide photos if necessary. Just interested in what I have here.

Thank you!

Hi, congrats on this flute. I think you have quite an instrument in hands :-)

In my opinion, I think the best way to get proper information about this flute is sending all this data you have to the manufacturer.
I'm sure they will be very happy in responding to you about this flute.

cheers
