Shinobue, what key to buy?

I went to a kodo concert some days ago and was baffled by their flute players.
They told me they use the shinobue and the nohkan. I'd love to be able to play one myself.
But I'm having a hard time choosing between the 3 mentioned in the title. There is very little info about them on the internet.
I'd like one with no super high pitch. So I can play a variety of songs.

Edit: Now I know I want a shinobue, but I'm actually quite uncertain what key I should buy. 3 options are: B♭, B or C.
Can anyone give more advice?
