Are all Powell flutes padded with Straubingers?
How about a Powell thats over 10 years old?

Each Custom flute includes a Handmade Custom headjoint of your choice, a fully pinless mechanism with traditional adjustments, Modern Powell scale, 10k white gold springs, pointed arms, Straubinger pads, leather case and case cover. There are multiple combinations of materials and options which allow you to customize your instrument. Every Custom flute offers a unique voice for each owner.

The Conservatory flute features French (open) cups, pointed arms, drawn tone holes (made with our patented Zinki technology – U.S. patent #7,420,109), the Modern Powell Scale, A-442 or 444 pitch, a fully pinless mechanism with traditional adjustments, a hand-cut Custom headjoint, pointed arms, Straubinger pads, leather case and case cover.

Every Handmade Signature flute features .016" sterling silver body, sterling silver keys, French (open) cups, pointed arms, drawn tone holes (made with our patented Zinki technology – US patent #7,420,109), the Modern Powell Scale, A-442 pitch, a traditional pinned mechanism with hidden adjusting screws, a hand-cut Signature® style headjoint, Straubinger pads, an elegant wooden case and leather case cover.

The Powell flute i repadded was built in 1977 ....it was built with traditional felt pads.
I brought it back to traditional...and for some reason i can not explain...it seems to play 'bigger"
i noticed it..and when the owner started playing it, that was her remark as well...kinda spooky!
