Love my featherweight baby altus 807!

Today I unpacked one baby altus 807. Am amazed at it's slim svelteness and featherweight in my hands. This is my first full plated flute part from it solid silver lip-joint. Whoa! Love it.

I imagine strapping laddies and lassies may not appreciate it as much, but for me, the size fits - I find the 807 easy to handle & manoeuvre in my hands. Was tentative about what to expect fr the plated headjoint but after a session or two of worrying lacklustre tone & projection, I managed to adapt (not difficult on my embouchure) and it took off with generous projection and what beautiful tonal shades (even color) for a lightweight baby altus. The headjoint is not a difficult one to adapt to. I do not think it's the Z cut though at times I'd be tempted to think it's square-ish but when i look again it takes the shape of an oval square.

I find the touch n feel of the Altus 807 is somewhat akin to Miyazawa PA202 (Atelier1) 's - the tone is resonant here and the 3rd register surreally easy. The Miya is however still slightly in front in the mechanism apart from its G# key's recent penchance for clicking. These flutes are amazing little singing contraptions!

Update: Totally happy with the instrument. What color there is (limited or otherwise), is easily coaxed, tonal range pretty amazing compared to my trusty student singing Yamaha which I still love since I first cut my teeth on it. But then my embouchure is still a wip.
