Syrinx

Post by O_Phlute »

I'm playing Syrinx by Debussy at the moment and I love it SO much!

Anyway I was just wondering if anyone had anything to say about it, like what that like/ don't like about it, any hints on playing it, anybody that plays it well, etc.

Thanks

I really like this piece, I think it is wonderful, and can be mysterious.
Good luck! :D

Look up the history, to help put the piece into proper perspective. It was incidental music for a play about the life of Pan. Even though it feels like a cadenza, be mercilessly rhythmic!

And do lots of dynamics, the wider possible range.

I love Syrinx. It's a beautiful piece and just really fun to play around with.
