I noticed a couple very *very* minor dents in my headjoint, barely noticable. Should I worry about it? I know it doesnt look as great as brand new, but do you think it could develop into a problem later-soundwise?

Unless you dent it further, the dents that are there already won't change how it plays down the line. I wouldn't worry about it, as fixing dents in the head can actually do much more harm to the playing characteristics of the instrument that just leaving them alone.

ditto. I wouldnt worry about them unless you can look inside the headjoint and see the dents on the INSIDE. But, that constitutes a major dent that could quite possibly be interupting the airflow in a negative manner. A friend of mine has a very bad dent in her headjoint, and it still plays as well as it did when she bought the flute [ and for a student flute, it plays REALLY well].
