Mags

Post by bfloyd »

Hi everyone. Are there any monthly or quarterly flute magazines available? I tried a search for flute mags but didn't really come up with anything. I find magazines a good resource for knowing what's what. Thanks.

The two big ones in America are the Flutist's Quarterly (published by the NFA) and Flute Talk (a monthly publication).

I highly recommend Flute Focus, which is an international quarterly flute magazine published in New Zealand. It is chock full of articles and tips. The yearly subscription cost is US$35 (which includes shipping).

You can subscribe from their website:

I would also recommend buying as many back issues as you can afford. They are only US$5 each and are well worth the price!

Great! Thanks for the link. Many of the back issues look very interesting. Especially the Baroque on a Modern Flute and the Medieval Flute issues.
