Harlem Renaissance Music

Post by FluteFire »

Hello, I am a high school student who is an absolute flute addict. I need your help however!

I have a project due on Monday in which I must perform a piece of music from the Harlem Renaissance time period. (1920's through 1930's). Is there anyone who can send me a piece of music that I can perform only for this project? Or can someone redirect me to the proper location of said piece of music?

Difficulty shouldn't be a problem with this type of music as I am playing pieces such as the Chaminade and Carnival of Venice.

Thanks for everyone's help!

Does it have to be written for flute? Off hand I don't know of anything.

How good are you at playing along with cds? I'm sure your local library will have something from that era that you can play along with. Just an idea!

Good luck!
