can someone tell me a little about this flute if youve had any expirience with it?
ive been playing with the same old Buffet flute for the last 5 years, and i need a change for the better
so, my teacher told me that this flute is the one for me.
can anyone just break it down a little bit?
any info can be helpfull!
(btw, ive already checked the MuramatsuAmerica website, but id rather someone whose not trying to sell it to me will tell me a little about it

It is a better than a Bundy, and it is a highly regarded model. That is about all you are going to get out of most people on this site. Why? Because just because a flute is a "GOOD" flute does not mean you are going to like it. I like the Muramatsu, but I do not prefer them over other makes like Sankyo, or Miyazawa. However, Sir James is VERY fond of it.
The best thing to do is play on it, and see for yourself. Also, if at all possible, it would be a good idea to try many different brands and models before you make your final choice. The chances are you may find something you like better.

I love the Muramatsu line of flutes, but as Phineas said though, just because I think they're great, doesn't mean that I should tell you to go buy one.
I wish teachers would stop telling their students to go buy a Brand X flute. Everyone is different and flultes are not a one-size-fits-all. I think it's fine for teachers to provide a list of respected brands/models, but each person needs to find a flute that is right for them.
I love my Muramatsu EX. I tried a bunch of flutes and ended up with this one. I think for the price it is one of the better flutes.
The mechinisim is very smooth and the tone is incredible. But that is my opinion. The only other flute that I liked was the Altus 1107 and it was a lot more expensive.
Try a bunch of flutes and find the one that fits you best.
