Artley Ogilvie Bass Flute!

Post by dogster »

I have a chance to trade my Haynes Vintage 1922 Plateau Flute for a Rare Artley Ogilvie Bass Flute and so he says its from the 70's in great shape. My question is this bsss flute worth 6000 ? Or should I pass and keep mine which is valued at about 3000.

Play it and see which one sounds better.

I would suspect that something made in 1970 will sound better than something made in 1922.

That is if it's sound you're talking about. If you're just a collector interested in resale value, then I have no idea, but I would keep the 1922 one because it's older.
