Martin Freres Flute

Post by Fox »

Has anyone ever heard of Martin Freres flutes? I did some research and the only information I could find was that they were in business around 1700 - 1800

Its seems he was known as a Clarinet maker more than a flutemaker . Does your flute still play after all those years ? lol
I have a amazing haynes flute from 1922 in mint condition that plays so amazingly

It's actually one I found for sale really cheap and was thinking of getting it so I practice maintaining and repairing a flute instead of trying on my own flute.

Read the ebay listing more carefully. It was made in the early 1900's. And besides, Theobald Boehm wasn't born until 1794. The flute as we know it wasn't invented by Boehm until about 1847.
