Post by stina »

Hello everybody, Do you know anything about buying Altus flutes from Taiwan? They say the flutes are made in Japan and just wondered if anybody had any experience of buiyng from Taiwan or had heard anything about it.

Hmm. I don't know.

I DO have two friends who are from Taipei, Taiwan, and both happen to play Altus flutes. Both of them sound wonderful on their flutes. What I do not know is, is whether their flutes were Japanese made, or Taiwanese.

if you look at Altus website, it says the founder first set up the company in Taiwan. Then as they expanded, they moved the operations back to Japan. i don't think they are still manufactured in Taiwan.

Correction: the Jupiter line are manufactured in Taiwan. The high-end flutes are manufactured in Japan.
