Question about practice.

Post by lula »

:) This is my freshman year in band and the two people ahead of me are graduating this year. There are 3 other flutes in my grade. I wanted to try and get first chair next year so I was wondering what I should practice on. I know 8 of the 12 scales plus my chromatic. :) So I just wanted to know what else I should practice. Thanks!

I suggest you get a copy of Trevor Wye's omnibus edition. It combines 5 books on Tone; Technique; Articulation; Intonation and Vibrato; Breathing and Scales.

Have you considered private lessons? Even a few lessons can help you figure out what your weaknesses are and how to start fixing them.
