This is a strange question but has anyone found that their fingers, mainly ring and pinky, bend slighty sideways towards their thumbs, like a curve? Also, has anyone found that the end of their arm bone on the outside of the wrist tends to stick out a long way?
I have both these problems, and wondered whether it could possibly be a side effect of playing the flute (possibly wrongly) or whether I just have weird joints I also find that my wrists crunch and crack more than any person's I know if I twist them in circles...
Is this something I should be comcerned about? I played the flute since I was 7 and am now nearly 16...I hope I havent mucked up my wrists :S haha

Hum...I think my pinky and ring fingers curve very slightly...I don't know the bone thing you are talking about.
Try this (I learned it at a class with Patricia George, you may want to google her or try to attend a body mapping workshop):
When putting your fingers on the flute, try adding the pinky first and then gradually adding all your other fingers, thumb being last. Apparently, this is the way our arm naturally should rotate. (I may not be explaining this great...I haven't gone over this stuff in a little while)
Also, here are some good books:

Or also check out info on Alexander Technique or other Body Mapping books. It is all about using your body the way it should work...not in the strange ways we try to make it work.
