Emeritus Flute?

Post by MegB »

Hello,

Any thoughts on Armstrong's Emeritus flutes? Someone is offering one on craigslist for $400, b-foot. I'm looking to replace a Gemeinhardt 3OSB.

Thanks!

I can't give any advice, but I just have a small question.
You've mentioned that you own a Gemeinhardt flute - is
that brand good quality, even the student flutes? I might
buy one. Just asking,

I have an Emeritus, and I love it! It looks quite ordinary but was made in the 1970s by some big-shots who worked at Armstrong at the time, who went on to make flutes on their own. Plays really well and sounds really good. $400 is a bargain if it is in good shape.
