K.G. Gemeinhardt Closed-Hole Flute

Post by avontricia »

Hi Everyone! I was very glad to find this site!

I purchased off Ebay a few years back a flute that has K.G. Gemeinhardt on the body. There is a number 1109 also there. It is closed-hole. I am 99%sure that it is silver-plated. I did go to the Gemeinhardt site and found a listing that suggested it was made around 1977 and that this was a KG Ltd. edition.

I was wondering if anyone had any information on these flutes. I am not able to find much on the internet about it and would like to learn more about it. It came to me in a brown leather-looking case with the name Hinkle on it. (Columbus, OH)

Thank you!!
Tricia

If you can look at the flute again it should say K.G. Gemeinhardt then under that it will say "Elkhart". Under that I'm guessing it will say M-1 or M-2.

The M series is what Gemeinhardt made before they started manufacturing the SP.
The M-2 has rolled tone holes where the M-1 does not.

Either was it is a good student level flute and is great for someone who is just starting out and is unsure of their playing future.
If you are unsure on the playing condition of it I am sure your local shop would be happy to check it over for you.
