Middle/Jr/Sr High Band Question

I was wondering if some of you could
answer a couple of questions for me. Are you in a Middle/Jr High Band? How many
students are in your school band? How many band directors/teachers do you have ?
How often do you have school lessons ? Are you pulled out of another class for

sectionals. Band class is everyday Yes, the sectional time is different every
week however so I never miss the same class two weeks in a row

we have concerts or contest coming up.

band(just the eigth grade) ~we have one teacher for the 7th and 8th grade and 2
for the sixth(their split into two bands) we also have a student teacher who
helps out ~We have class every other day for 50 minutes(it was cut this year
from every day during a budget crisis) ~In elementary school we were but not in
middle or high school

through some changes here and we have been surveying schools in our conference
and it got me curious as to how schools in other states are doing things. Kim

people who are in Show Choir, it's 2-3 times a week, and for people who are not
in Show Choir, it's every day. Are you pulled out of another class for lessons

---------------- [/quote] Yes, i'm in jh. A whole lot of kids are taking band
class, but only 40 something are in the Symphonic Wind Emsemble. Two teachers
and one concert master who's in 8th grade. Um...i have band class twice a week,
and after school rehearsal twice a week. I practice at lunch and in the mornings
before school everyday. Yes, but only right before a concert usually. Sometimes,
if the dance teacher isnt here (which is pretty often), I can get the substitute
to let me go to band by myself.

three days every week; four days if there's competition with additional three
to four hours of practice prior to competition. During concert/festival season:
occassional 2-hour clinics after school with Mr. Daleo (CJA judge/Top Talented
