As I''m interested in furthering my
abilities in flute playing, are there any recommended books that any of you have
played from orhave heard/read great remarks from? From what I hear, the
following are great for aspiring flutists: - any of Joachim Anderson''s
etude/study books - Taffanel and Gaubert 17 Daily Exercises for the Flute -
Filas High Register Studies

Which one of Filas' Top Register
Studies do you recommend? He has one with 52 studies and one with 90. : I'm
confused. Any other composers out there who have publicized effective etude and
study books?

I've been playing for about 20
years; I've always found Moyce an the T&G etudes to be the most helpful. Good
luck.[;)]

Hey there, I'll cast my vote here
for any of Moyse's books, T&G, and add Boehm 24 Caprices Op. 26, Paganini 24
Caprices, Altes Daily Exercises and 26 Selected Studies, and Reichert 7 Daily
Exercises Op. 5. Good luck!

Try Rubank. It teaches you but it
also gets more and more challenging as you move to intermediate and later to
advanced. Or La Sonorite, to work on sound.

I don't really recommend Rubank. The Melodious and Progressive Studies books are great.
