N.D. Lamberson

Ive played Powells, Haynes, Murumatsu, Miyazawa, Ive even played some more exotics, but I have to tell you, I got my hands on an ND Lamberson and theyre has never been a better built flute that I have ever come across. I did some research and it seems that they are valued very high, but no one is selling them.... Anyone know where I can find another one?

Tip Lamberson was truly the last of his kind, being THE American handmaker, and it was a shame to hear of his passing. It is truly unfair that his flutes were produced in such limited quantity and are so hard to come by. My heart goes out to his family......

I wish I had one to sell, I play Powells myself and some Yamaha for fun, but my Powells are all Lamberson crafted from his days at Powell. If there is one available may the best bidder win...... PS Serial number must be post 600 I would love one in the 650's if thats even possible anymore....

Just joined this site so get to know me as this, if anyone is selling any rare instruments let me know, I have a fetish for rare flutes. Especially Lambersons and Powells (all must be low B open hole soldered tone holes)..... I usually just read but I registered for this one, I will buy any Lamberson....

Thats funny, I noticed we joined around the same time for the same reson.... I take it we heard the same thing.... Only explanation.... Make no mistake, I am the one who will pay THE top dollar for any lamberson flute, closer to #650 the better within 20 either way and I would pay any amount within its reasonable value..... No, it's gold. If it were gold plated, Fluteworld would have described it as such. And in high quality, handmade instruments, it's somewhat unusual to come across a gold plated instrument. If you're going to shell out the money for a custom flute, and you want gold, then you might as well pay for the gold, rather than paying for gold plating which will have little to no effect on how the instrument plays.

thats a good price, 8995? Id actually rather have a 65x solid silver.... Theres just something about a traditional silver Lamberson thats perfect for me

I am wondering if you can clarify your post for me? If I understand your post correctly, are you selling your Head Joint only for $500.00? My Lamberson flute has a "rolled gold" embouchure plate and has a silver head joint.

I have been told that the value of this instrument has risen significantly since the death of Tip Lamberson. I have researched this quite a bit and I am honestly hoping I can sell it for at least $9,500.00. Is that an unreasonable price to ask?

Well, $9500 is definitely on the upper end of pricing for a used Lamberson flute. If you search usedflutes.com, you can find a few Lamberson flutes that were listed there over the last 5 years or so. All were listed between $2000-$5000 and none indicated that they sold at those prices.

I have a wonderful Lamberson , Number 605. I am getting an estimate on value and I have no idea what the value would now be for the flute.
How does his flute numbering work? All I know is that I bought it from him in 1980, and it is beautifully hand crafted and has a wonderful sound.
