Unknown flute with numbers only

Post by Rife »

Hello all,

I'm new so unable to post images but hoping an expert out here may know about old flutes or know a reputable fair place in nyc for appraisal?

Sterling or not? Don't know. Crudely stamped 7469 on foot and 469 on underside of key
- No other markings but a slightly decorative crown with one simple line of beading.

Any clues at all? Appreciate your time and can email images if someone's interested.

Thank you so much!

I wonder if it could be made by King? You might Google images and see if the crowns look alike.

Could you upload the pictures to imgur and share a link?

If you hold the headjoint by the crown and lightly flick the far end do you hear it ring (plated) or thud (silver)?

So did you look up King? Is that who made your flute?
