+100 things to think about . . .

Post by dancingflutist3000 »

Have you ever heard that playing an
instument is good for the mind and been like "Okay thanx for the info." but not
actually knowing why? Well the reason is it stimulates the mind because you need
to remember so many things at once such as: -correct posture -correct finger
placement -tonguing -beat -key signature -time signature -fingering for notes. .
. . . it goes on and on and on. That''s what makes playing an instument hard
and challenging. There are probably over 100 things to remember but I''m
obviously not going to name them all here.

Yep. It's proven. Kids involved in a
music program are more likely to attend college. Now I sound like that VH1
commercial, for Save the Music.

ya, its amazing how your brain can do
so many things at the same time! i heard, (dont quote me on this, i dont know if
its true!) that you use more of your brain playing an instrument than doing
anything else! i thought that was so cool! -jess
