I just rented a gemeinhardt 22sp for two months and I am in the process of deciding whether to buy it. The dealer said it was new but I can't find the 22sp model on the Gemeinhardt websit. Also, I am wondering if the price of it ($369.) is a good one and any other feedbakc anyone else has on this model
I am an adult beggine. I have played piano and clarient but have never played flute before
would appreciate any feedback anyone has

Not too sure what 22SP is...I have 72SP. It's a student model flute by Gemeinhardt, silver-plated everything =P At Yamaha, they offered all three models: 22SP, 52SP, and 72SP. As the number increases (apparently, or so as the salesperson tells me), the better the flute. They're all silver-plated but I guess there are little adjustments to them. I paid C$518 for mine (72SP). =)

A 22SP is a practically the same as the 2SP. I think there may be a difference in headjoints (not sure).
For some reason, I think I remember a Gemeinhardt rep telling me that the 22SP is a updated version, but I know they are both being sold new at this time. Maybe there were changes made that have not yet effected production. Just a guess Gemeinhardt also produces flutes that are only sold through certain dealers, which could possibly be the case here as well.
