Greetings to all:
I'm Kevin Hiatt a composer and guitarist based in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Presently I'm looking for a flute/piano player duo interested in recording my work "One Star in Sight" for a future cd release. This work is 12 mins long, similar in style to Takamitsu/Messiaen. While difficult, its actually a very playable work. Tonal/Modal/Chromatic/Atonal but in a colorful way.
My overall goal is to establish a cd recording label for my music. A 2nd cd will be coming out on my Shabda "label" in the next few weeks.
For more info on me and my works go to kevinhiattmusic.com, click on
concert works to see a list of my other works involving flute. The first two cd's I've produced are on the more popular side i.e. fingerstyle guitar and singer/songwriter. The third cd will be a crossover recording somewhere between new music and new age, but still within the scope of concert music. Once I get three cd's on my label I look more "legit"to distributers
and thus can get regional and national distribution or so I'm told.
I will pay for all recording costs plus a small retainer for the performers rehearsal time. Performers will also receive a limited number of cd's for their promotional use. Billing on the cd cover and insert will give equal exposure to myself as composer, and the performing artists.
I thank in advance all who respond.
Kevin Hiatt

Why not contact a local flutist? I'm sure there are good musicians in the area, and it's a much better experience if the performers and composer can get together frequently to rehearse. A quick check of the Purdue Fort Wayne campus shows three flutists on the faculty. Perhaps one of them would be willing to work with you, or to connect you with some one in the area who would. In my experience, university faculty are quite generous!
