What mic/setup to record and amp flute?

So I sold my cheap recording equipment a few years ago after moving flats and in the market for a mic
any advice as to which mic is recommended for flute recording? I know from my time in the studio the Shure Sm 57 is an all around good solution but I also heard this is not an ideal one, so... any idea/advice as to what I should be considering?
My house is not acoustically treated but I do have a room which is designed originally as a bomb shelter.. heavy walls/door, small dry overall space... seems perfect.

Also I would like to ask, what is IYO the ideal setup for amping the instrument live? I used to take it to bars etc. before the Corona thing and just use one of the normal dynamic mics available there but than again at times the mics were needed for singer/s and other instruments too..
I recall there's also a small pickup thing attached to the flute not sure how it's called but I remember it does sound good and probably better...
Think it was wireless system but lastly I saw it a couple of years ago so I don't remember. Worth considering IYO?

Thank you. That was a good read. So basically he recommends the SM58 which is actually nice and not expensive. I always though the SM57 was used for instruments while the 58 for vox but I guess whatever works better in practice ... and Anderson speaks from experience.
also, for strictly home recording, isn't a compact ZOOM device better than straight up micing a dynamic 58, or not?
