Help Desperately Needed!

Post by acclaim »

Hi All,

Just got to know about this forum and would really need all of you guy's precious advice. I was just given a Yamaha Flute YFL-581H by a close friend. This B-foot flute has a solid silver CY cut headjoint, body and foot joint and silver-plated hand-crafted keys. However, I do not fancy the headjoint and am considering to purchase an additional headjoint to use with the body and foot-joint. Is this advisable? If so, any headjoints to recomment? Thanx in advance!! :D

If you don't like the headjoint, you should definitely consider getting a different one. I've heard good things about the Drelinger headjoints. I personally like the Gooseman butterfly headjoints...but just try as many as you can.
Haha, this one is my favorite:

I have a solid silver yamaha EC headjoint, which is apparently the best headjoint yamaha makes. I've played headjoints by drelinger, muramatsu, and brannen, and liked all of them. Just try as many as you can; when you've found the one you like, you'll know.
