Just saying HI

Post by jayneice »

Hi, I'm new. I stumbled across this sight when I was searching for a method book I wanted to replace. I'm the quintessential multi-tasker. I began my musical adventure when I was 3 when I announced quite boldly that I would play my great-grandfather's violin. I did; at 8 I began violin, doubling flute at 10, cello at 11, alto, tenor and bari at 14 then bassoon at 17. I recieved top honors in state music festivals and played in state honor bands. Yep, I went to college as a music major, but marriage and three kids put an end to that. All of my children play, one exceptionally well and he plans to pursue music in college as well (guitar and trumpet, one flute and one trombone). I returned to school at 39 to finish my degree, but once again family interfered so instead of teaching music I'll be teaching elementary school. I play in my community band, teach flute and violin, and play whenever someone asks. I play because and teach because I love it and for that reason alone. I'm really excited to read these pages as a resource for my students as well as myself.
