anyone own an azumi?
I just got an Azumi 2000 on trial. So far, I like it the best of all the flutes I have tried..at least 8 so far!
I am still checking out the Yamaha 481 with all silver body...

azumi ownership/testorship
I tested an azumi 2000 two weeks ago and was amazed at the response and sound quality of this model! I have a Gemein sp student model flute, which I brought with me to the testing for side by side comparison) and the azumi flute seemed to pop the notes out in the upper and lower registers so effortlessly without compromising volume or pitch...(i brought my tuner in with me to monitor sustained tones)...and the azumi outperformed the professional yamaha and jupiter models hands down! The Jupiter model would barely produce a wisp of sound when I tried playing low C. The Yamaha was also very week in the lower register. I have found the gemein...less than friendly on the upper topmost notes in the upper register...especially anything above G/Ab section.
My impulse was to sign on the line and take the Azumi home with me, after playing but, instead I gave myself some time to think this over and find out as much as possible about this flute. This week I asked a local repairman if he had seen/serviced any of these models and he hadn't heard of this flute. I would be interested in the long term maint. issues anyone has experienced with this brand; Just to make sure this wonder-woodwind isn't a short lived miracle....
Otherwise, I too can't wait to own this flute!
