No Band This Year for Me

Post by SaturnCat »

Hello,

I wish I could be in marching band and regular band at my school but there isn't anyone who can bring me to all rehersals and performances. I really want to play and I don't want to quit playing the flute. What should I do? Maybe next year I can be in it, but for the meantime what do I do? I don't want to loose or forget what I have learned before. I want to get better.

Thank you

Well, you can take lessons, and perhaps take part in groups that rehearse at hours that you can get a ride. There are plenty of youth/community orchestras out there, maybe a flute choir or two in your area, or other projects you can get involved in that can helpyou maintain your current level and grow musically. If none of this is possible, just keep going on your own. Just because you are not a part of the school band doesn't mean you can't play music. You might even try to put together a chamber group or something (I don't know what level you're at) that could rehearse at your home, or somewhere in walking distance. I hope some of that helps!

Yeah, thanks :D I am going to have to try one or the other, which ever helps the most.
