I really don't like woodies because they sound too wispy for me. I don't like solid silver sound either, it's too "tinny". I'm happy w/my silver plated Gemeinhardt 4sp. I played it for years & I tried to upgrade to a plastic w/metal head but couldn't play it for some reason, after playing the metal one. I don't know why--I just couldn't so I would suggest you going to the music store & trying out some different ones first before buying. I almost made the mistake of getting that 4psh w/o trying it out first. I'm glad I didn't. I would've been greatly disappointed. I'm sure there are 'better' models & brands out there but for now I'm sticking to my Gemeinhardt, it's what I know. I do however like this site because I'm finding out a lot of other brands I didn't know about so I get to explore now. Sorry I couldn't be of any help to you but good luck in your search.
