Cleaning a flute?

The most you should ever have to do is place the cigarette paper inbetween and lightly press down the key. Mashing down the key will just make things worse. Pulling (even though many people say to do this) will make things worse as well. It will pull on the pad's membrane in a direction that it was not designed to go.chaos0008 wrote:One question though, if i use an ungummed cigarette paper to clean the pads, but no matter how long i press the keys on it, it still stays sticky, do i pull on the paper a little? If it is still sticky when dry, then it's time to get the pads replaced.
