Well, if the serial number ends 666, how about "He whose name shall not be spoken"?
"Never give a flute player a screwdriver."

Hmm, HWNSNBS or maybe run to the closest Zondervan's and look to see what prophet is on page 666: for instance, looking at what I got here it'd be my pleasure to introduce you to Ezekiel! (chapter 40 if for those interested.) Son of dust...

823 and it's Luke Prodigal Son/Unjust Steward; but I was thinking more along the line of Kilroy/Mr Roboto & Styx. I haven't met Styx yet, tho. We had a bit of a mishap in the shop the other day, so they might sell Mr Roboto out from under me, but let's see what happens... Still too early to tell: I ought to know more before the end of the day!

My new flute doesn't have a name yet, but my Hammig piccolo does, I like to call him Phillippe.

There are a lot of Kingma/Kotato contrabass flute players that name their flutes. The goal is to choose a name starting with the letter C if you play contra... The two contras I play with regularly are Connie and The Contessa. Flutist Phyllis Louke named hers Conrad, I believe.

To be fair, there wasn't any firm agreement worked out, so "selling out from under me" wouldn't be appropriate under these circumstances and a very poor choice of words by myself, I might also add; but to the best of my knowledge Mr. Roboto is still there, domo aragato!

3540 views? Then we ought to have at least 3540 names... Need to see what can be done about charging admission!

Well, I haven't given my Gemeinhardt flute (silver plated, open hole, inline) a name, but I've given my plastic bundy clarinet one: Duck. For squeaky reasons.

My flute (which is a Pearl Elegante 795 RB-CD) is named Apollo, after the Greek god of Music. This is due to its amazing sound. My piccolo needs a mane though (any suggestions?). My Alto's name is Martin, simply because that is the manufacturer.
