advice, please, on selling a flute
inherited my sister's 1973 Haynes B foot inline G French flute several years ago. I've just had it completely overhauled and am looking to sell it as I don't play the flute--well, my high school Gemeinhardt, but not a Haynes open hole! Any ideas as to how to go about selling it? It's appraised (for insurance purposes) at $10,000. I know the market is "soft" right now, but I'm hopeful of getting $6,500 - $7,500 for it. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

I would contact Fluteworld about consignment options. For a first time seller, this is a safe alternative to selling online to an unknown customer. I am not sure what they will charge for the service, but it is worth looking into. Also, you might want to contact local universities or flute teachers. If I had the money, I would buy it myself Good luck!
