double tongueing

I''m not sure if I could double tongue cause i
can''t tell if i am double tongueing! Are there any ways how i can tell if I
am really doing it?

It's difficult to answer this question without
actually seeing what you're doing, but here are some tests that you can try and
see if you are feeling. Normally, if you have just started learning how to
double tongue, you will notice that your tongue will get tired much more quickly
than it normally would. Also, something else to listen for is generally again,
when you're learning, the 'k' syllable while double tonguing is not as clear
and focused as the 't' My first teacher told me to just practice double
tonguing without your flute even close to you, to build up speed and endurance.
walk around and just go, "t-k-t-k-t-k-t-k-t-k-t-k-t-k" etc...there are many
different ideas on how to double tongue and teach double tonguing. the syllables
that work best for me is "ti-ki-ti-ki-ti-ki-ti-ki..." because these are very
close in the mouth. (it's difficult to explain in an email, but in essence the
less your tongue has to move and work, the less tired it will become and the
easier it will be to tongue faster. ) i hope this helps! best of luck
