Dear all,
I am about buying an alto flute. I have basically come to the point where I have two options. The two choices are Trevor James Performer Alto Flute (http://trevorjamesflutes.com/products/a ... altoflutes) and Pearl alto (PFA-206ES, http://www.pearlflutes.com/alto.html).
Both of these have full silver head joint and they cost almost the same in this shop: http://www.soitinlaine.fi/sumuCMS/sivu/ ... ria_id/203
Does anyone have experience on these altos? Which one is better?

You really need to try them. I like both. My two favorite altos are the Pearl and the Trevor James black nickel plated.

I agree with fluteguy18. It is best to try them. However, at our recent Flute Extravaganza, a major expo featuring various flutes from 9 makers, the Trevor James remained to constant favorite among the many flutists who attended (particularly the black nickel version).
I have several alto flutes available for sale. Please contact me if interested.

Re: Pearl vs. Trevor James Alto flute
Many thanks for the comments,
According to the information I have collected from various discussion forums around the net, I have gotten an impression that Trevor James altos are easier to play, but Pearl might have richer sound, at least in the hands of professional. Nevertheless, I am not professional, so the Trevor James might be my choice. Actually I have never touched an alto flute nor seen it in real live. The music shops in my home city do not have alto flutes available.
Best regards,
Chamel

I am interested. I just joined the forum, so I cannot send you private message. How I can contact you? I am leaving for a summer cottage for the week end. I am back on next Monday. See you then.RicksMusic wrote:I agree with fluteguy18. It is best to try them.
