Yamaha YPC-61 for a beginning piccolo player?
I'm considering getting a piccolo. One of the local music stores has a used Yamaha YPC-61 for sale. I've looked online and see that this is considered a professional grade piccolo. Would it also be suitable for a beginner? I've never played a piccolo before, and don't know much about them, so I don't know if I should start with one that has a metal lip plate, or if the YPC61 would be suitable.

If it plays good, and you can afford it, go for it!!
However, if you have NEVER played Flute before, I would highly suggest starting out on flute first.
Piccolos are funny instruments. They can be very player specific how they play from the player's perspective.
