Pretty new to playing.

Post by jgegner »

I play Native American flutes professionally and decided to add the concert flute to my abilities. I took lessons for about a month, life got in the way and I didn't play for 2 years. I picked it back up about 4 months ago teaching myself. Here is a piece of improv, I do know each note I am playing. Just wanting to know if I am making any terrible errors I should address. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIis9l9WVyg

Well, I'd say over all a very nice sound. I would suggest in the future the background music not be so loud. There are some naturally found intonation problems on all instruments. Some of that can be fixed with some alternate fingerings. The rest is about lipping in such a manner as to bring the offending note into tune. Just taking one or two lessons with a qualified flute teacher could save you years of trouble. Thank you for the share.
