Hi, it's my first post on this forum . I'm in the position to purchase a decent enough Alto flute. There is an all silver (head and body ) Gerbruder Monnig alto on EBay going for £1500 also there is a brand new Pearl 206 ( solid silver head) for around the same price.
Anyone have any experience of the Monnig Alto flutes? I had a Monnig Bass flute many years ago. It was a silver plated affair and played quite well but was fairly sharp in the upper register.
So my dilemma us which Alto to go for?
Any advice, thoughts or opinions would be most welcome.
