Cobra C- Flute Accessory

Post by maynard »

I'm wondering if anyone has had experience using the Cobra C Flute Support ring? I recently purchased this device and have found it to be helpful in terms of keeping my flute stable so that the flute will not slip/or rotate off of my left index finger (I'm a right handed player). The device is a ring that fits on the left index finger, just above the first knuckle; it's made by Mistic Media and I paid $80.00 for it. I'm interested in others opinions/comments. Thanks.

P.S. here is the address to the Mistic Media site .www.misticmedia.com/cobra/index.php/en/faq. Thanks again. This is a late edit to the above thread after I realized I should have included the address to the site.

Here's the site for the Cobra C flute accessory: www.misticmedia.com/cobra/index.php/en/faq. I should have posted the site at the time I wrote the thread, sorry about that. Thanks for any opinions/thoughts on the item. Maynard.

There are several devices for the flute that are said to help improve the players ability to hold the flute. For players with extremely small hands or those who have physical issues that prevent the player from using a standard hand position, these types of devices may be useful. For most people, they frankly are unnecessary and the money would be better spent on lessons with a flute teacher who can show a novice player how to properly hold the flute.

Thanks Pied_Piper, and I couldn't agree more; very sound advice. I do have some physical issues with my left wrist, so the device seems to help me. Also have an excellent flute tutor and that certainly helps me even more. :D
